Goodbye Termites, Ants, and Roaches

How Can You Get Rid Of Bed Bugs In Your Home?

Have you noticed signs of a bed bug infestation in your home, and you're not sure what to do about it? You'll likely need the help of a pest control specialist to get rid of those bed bugs for good. Here are some of the techniques that can be used to exterminate bed bugs.

Vacuum Removal

If a pest control specialist is able to physically see the bed bugs and their eggs, then they'll take steps to remove the bed bugs with a vacuum. This is not the same as getting out your typical vacuum cleaner, since you need to make sure that bed bugs get trapped in the vacuum and do not escape. Any bed bugs that can be physically removed from your home will not require other treatments, which is why this is often the first step.

Traps

There are actually bed bug traps that can be used to catch bed bugs that will go up furniture legs. This type of trap works by placing the leg of the furniture on the trap, which is like a smooth dish with ridges. The bed bugs get into the trap, and then they're unable to make it to the leg of the furniture to climb up it.

Steam

Another way to get rid of bed bugs is to use steam. This is often done by using steam that is applied to fabric surfaces since the steam is going to be able to penetrate the fabric and reach the bed bugs that could be on the other side. Steam is a great way to treat beds where you want to make sure that you are getting rid of any bed bugs that could be in small crevices of the mattress or even on the inside of them.

Chemicals

There are insecticides that can be used to treat areas that are otherwise hard to reach. This includes spraying the insecticide into small places, such as behind a baseboard along the floor, or into places in furniture where the bed bugs could be hiding.

Heat

When the problem has gotten a bit out of control, a whole-home heat treatment can be used to get rid of the bed bugs that are hidden inside your home. This is done by bringing in heaters that are going to increase the temperature of your home to a specific level, which will be hot enough to kill the bed bugs after a specific amount of time.

Goodbye Termites, Ants, and Roaches

Termites, ants, and roaches have to be some of the most common and most annoying household pests. Roaches make your home smell, and they also spread disease. Termites can chew anything made from wood to bits, and ants are just creepy with their tiny legs and nest-building capabilities. Pest control companies can keep all these nasty insects away, and they can also help manage less-common pests like earwigs and house centipedes. As annoying as pests are, pest control is a pretty interesting topic, and it's one we explore in more depth on this website. Start reading, and say goodbye to ants, roaches, and termites for good.
