Goodbye Termites, Ants, and Roaches

Seen a Few Mice in Your Home? You Better Get Them Out Now

If you have seen a few mice in your home, you need to get them out immediately. This is because mice can infest your home quickly. Female mice can have several babies in each litter. Consider if you have more than one female how quickly this can multiply within a few months.

Seal Up Entry Points

The first thing you need to do is to find all entry points where mice are getting into your home. Some entry points are holes in your windows or gaps around the window, gaps between ceilings or walls, drainage pipes that are not sealed, basements, cracks in cabinets, or spaces between doors and the floor.

You need to seal up all of these entry points. If you are not able to do this yourself, hire a contractor to do this for you.

Set Up Mouse Traps

Mousetraps will work well if you only have a few mice in your home. There are different types of traps available. Snap traps are the most common type used.

There are also bait stations. With these, you place a mouse poison inside the station. When the mouse enters the station, it locks them inside. The mouse will then eat the bait and die. If you do not want to kill the mice, there are catch-and-release traps.

Hire a Pest Control Company

If you are still seeing mice or you think that your home is already infested, you need to hire a pest control company. They will first make sure you closed up all entry points. The pest control company will inspect your home for signs of mice, such as mouse droppings, chewed wire, or nests. The pest control company will look in the attic also, as this is a common place for mice to build their nests. This is especially true during the winter months as the mice will try to find a warm place to stay.

If the traps are not working or the pest control company finds that you have a mouse infestation, they will likely need to fumigate your home. You will have to leave your home while this is being done for a few hours. If you do see any mice after this, the pest control company may need to fumigate your home a second time.

The pest control company can give you many tips to prevent mice from getting back into your home. Speak to companies such as Xtermco Inc to get started.

About Me

Goodbye Termites, Ants, and Roaches

Termites, ants, and roaches have to be some of the most common and most annoying household pests. Roaches make your home smell, and they also spread disease. Termites can chew anything made from wood to bits, and ants are just creepy with their tiny legs and nest-building capabilities. Pest control companies can keep all these nasty insects away, and they can also help manage less-common pests like earwigs and house centipedes. As annoying as pests are, pest control is a pretty interesting topic, and it's one we explore in more depth on this website. Start reading, and say goodbye to ants, roaches, and termites for good.
